Whether classical music, jazz, hip-hop, rap,  rock, pop or electro – the Stuttgart Region is home to numerous orchestras, bands, DJs and companies that celebrate success far beyond the region.

This includes not only the „classics“ such as Die Fantastischen Vier or Massive Töne, but also Cro, Die Orsons, Rin or Bausa have conquered the music scene. Companies such as 0711 Entertainment GmbH, tour and concert organisers such as SKS Russ or Opus GmbH attract thousands of music fans to the region every year. The oldest recording studio in Germany, the renowned Bauer Studios, is also based here.

In addition, the largest independent metal record label in the world is located in rural Donzdorf: Nuclear Blast GmbH with over 70 employees. Internationally renowned variety is also to be found in classical music: four top-class orchestras, the International Bach Academy, the Gächinger Kantorei and the State Opera are just a few examples.

DJs such as Konstantin Sibold, Niklas Ibach or Özgür „Ninetoes“ Yelmen travel from the Stuttgart region to the world to delight thousands of guests with house, techno and electronic music at international festivals.

The broadcasting market in the Stuttgart region is characterised by the high production presence of Südwestrundfunk. For example, RegioTV Stuttgart was founded in 1995 under the name R.TV as the first district television station in Baden-Württemberg and is still on air today.
