Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation
As the central contact for investors and businesses in Stuttgart and the five surrounding districts, the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation („Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart“ or WRS) supports start-ups as well as established businesses. We raise awareness for the qualities of the region as a business location, support the establishment of companies in the area and offer a broad variety of projects and services aimed at the development of the region.
The WRS was founded in 1995. As a subsidiary of the Verband Region Stuttgart and with other shareholders, we are a publicly funded company. In our project-oriented work, we cooperate intensively with companies, research institutions, municipal business development agencies, chambers of commerce and other players.
The topic-related regional competence and innovation centres are considered to be exemplary throughout Europe. As a business network and interface to the region’s research institutions, they are of great benefit to small and medium-sized enterprises in particular.
